troubles with cron/gpilot-install-file

When run from cron or anywhere w/ no display, it quits with the error

gpilot-install-file -l ~/.showtimes/*

"Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: "

I'm just wondering if anyone has a quick fix before I try and look
into the code.
