Are you using Emacs to edit them on PC? Does it leave <memo>~ backups?
If yes than you should set "ignore end" option on the memo file
conduit control applet to "~". This will tell the conduit to ignore
files that end with ~. Otherwise it syncs the duplicate back to the
pilot and renames it to <memo>.1 because they are always named by
first line (and number if another memo of the same name exists).
