This is most definately obfuscated. I will consult the ancient email and
see what the H* me a Manish where thinkinh. But I think it was something
about default_sync_action either overriding all conduit settings (where
possible), or serving as the default in case the conduit config didn't
specify which to use. 

But yes, right now it just overwrites everything.
