Epochs

Hi all,
There was some discussion on this earlier today in the channel, what should
we do with epoch numbers, redhat and ximian have allready started epoch
wars with various packages pygnome comes to mind. What do you think we
should do for upgrading ease, compatibility, and avoiding epoch wars?
