How they are classified or organised or presented to the user is not a
primary concern but a future one.

It becomes a primary concern once you begin "recruiting." You have to be
careful you don't accidentally or intentionally misrepresent your
intentions when you start bringing other projects into the fold. Now I
think it should be acceptable to do this by vague assignments and
explaining you intend to work out mulitple packages rather than one
monolithic package though interapp cooperation is needed for all. You just
need to be clear when talking with, say, Inkscape, that it is possible they
would be placed in a graphics suite rather than the office suite as they
could become grumpy over this. ( I don't know the Inkscape people, I just
picked an example that came to mind since I just had Inkscape open. :) )

This may seem like trivia shit, but as we lack economic motives here, we
do have to be a little more aware of egos and accidentally bruised
feelings. And really, does clarity at this juncture hurt more than it
helps?

The primary concern is recognising what is needed by GO, getting key
application developers talking about aligning their projects with the
goals of GO, and getting important people to interact in a productive
way that sees a convergance and collaboration in the future.

------

And this is a necessary thing, but we also have to keep in mind that one
of the desired goals in this incarnation is FOCUS. By throughing every
vaguely business/productity/office app in under the GnomeOffice Banner we
end up with the same kind of hodge-podge that languished before.

While I think from a code standpoint, the shared code is most likely to
be used by all, as opposed to a libgoffice, a libgart, etc. And from that
perspective yes, it's one big suite.

But we have to think just as far in advance about the ultimate
presentation of the metaproject(s) and the internal and external issues
they present.
