Maintainership for gnome-print has recently moved to the gnumeric crowd,
specifically Jody with me trying to fix various bugs in the current
implementation. Itt would be nice if you would file your suggestion of
an SVG backend for gnome-print as an enhancement request on bugzilla,
since we are still in the process of first of all understanding the code
and then organize what we see as the future of gnome-print.
