I completely agree. That is why I said "obviously doesn't mean GnuCash
shouldn't be in Gnome Office". I would appreciate it if we drop the
subject. I thought that I was doing a service to the community by
providing information about a competitive product.
again - sorry for the misunderstanding

I re-read my email and now see how poorly it was written. In no way
did I mean to imply that GnuCash is not good software or that it
didn't belong in Gnome Office. The reason I forwarded the Moneydance
email was exactly opposite. It was meant as a demo of the importance
of GnuCash. What should be in an "Office" package - difficult to say.
Just because MS Money isn't in MS Office obviously doesn't mean GnuCash
shouldn't be in Gnome Office. I was trying to say - hey, is the
Monydance situation all the more reason to take a good look at GnuCash.
I am VERY sorry for the error.
MS Project isn't part of GNOME Office either. I think one of the reasons
for neither of these applications not to be in there is that they make
more money to sell them outside (since most people won't need it and
would object to paying a lot of extra for applications they don't need).
We on the other hand has the opportunity to create a better office
suite, since we can provide everything others provide and also provide
the extra functionality of GnuCash and MrProject (and probably other
applications too).

Mikael Hallendal
