Pilot Sync Fails

I am running the 2.2.16 kernel on an IBM Thinkpad 390X. I am trying to
get my PalmPilot to sync with gnome calendar and can't get it to sync
anything. Where are the calendar files stored in the OS? I was wondering
if this might be a permissions issue or a bug with the gpilotd.
