Can differnt user launch different esd daemon?

Hi,

Esd is a amazing tool for me. I can play music through network. I have
one question: 

Can different user launch different esd daemon in one computer? I guess
each user can use /$HOME/.esd.conf for confiuration, and export
$ESPEAKER variable. In my computer (Fedora core 2), I have one internal
sound card (intel), one USB sound card (Labtec Headset). Current I can
only make one work, if another user launch esd with the second sound
card (such as hw:1), the esd daemon exit with code 2 (failed). 

Is there anything I can do to make both sound card work at the same time
so that different users can hear different songs in one computer?
