ESD CVS compile problem

It's great to see ESD still being improved!

I'm not sure if this is the right list for support, but I can't get
the latest CVS to compile with ALSA support. I'm using gcc 2.95.3 and
  the automake/conf/aclocal 1.7.1 with Slackware.

The error is as follows. Also, --disable-alsa does allow it to compile
and work normally. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I/usr/local/include -DSYSCONFDIR=\"/usr/local/e
tc\" -DSERVERDIR=\"/usr/local/bin\" -g -O2 -c audio.c -Wp,-MD,.deps/libesd_la-au
dio.TPlo -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/libesd_la-audio.lo
