gtk+/glib 2.6

Subject is supposed to be binary compatible with the 2.4 series. I
installed 2.6 into my Gnome 2.8 and all the icons are missing or have
turned generic. I have Gnome 2.8 installed in /usr/local/gnome28 and
compiled from sources.
