It has nothing to do with GNOME however, though it runs
fine on all *n*xes. Unfortunately I don't know anything
about the project at this stage, but will be finding out
more within 6 months when I do a semester course in GIS.
It would be good to see something like this ship with 
Linux distributions in the future, and provide some level
of integration with desktops apps...
