Advice Please

I've been running KDE (SuSE Linux 9.0) but am planning to try Gnome for awhile. Is it necessary/advisable to run Gnome under GDM rather than KDM. Gnome seems to work okay under KDM but if there is a good reason to change, I'd like to know about it.
