about start menu

I use redhat8, I want to remove something from Start Menu. But, if I
click right mouse button in the menu, them don't have any action. if I
go to the "applications:///" in the nautilus, them tell me: Error
"Unsupported operation" while deleting "application:///......."
How can I custom my start menu?
