GDM Log in

Hi,

Iam using Mandrake 9.0, It's seem the default login is KDE not GDM. 
I try to strating The GDM with root, but if i reboot the mechine it goes to 
KDE again. 

When i starting GDM it tells that something about konsole number or something 
similar...i don't quite understand. 

Is there anything i can do, so i can log in into my system using GDM??
