XML Parser not found

Recently when attempting to compile various new gnome packages I've been
encountering the following message:

"You must have XML::Parser installed to run ../../intltool-merge"

Is there something that I haven't installed?  It only seems to be newer
packages that are getting the error.

I'm running gnome 2.4 desktop on a LFS 5.0 system

Any Ideas?
