Make nautilus reread /etc/fstab

Hey, all:

I am playing with hotplug, and I need to be able to tell nautilus to
reread /etc/fstab so it can update its rightclick->disks menu. Any
signal I try seems to kill it entirely and then cause it to respawn.
While this sorta does what I need, I would really much rather not kill
it, as it can hose a user's session.

Any suggestions?
