Problem compiling libgtop 1.0.13

I am trying to install gnome on my LFS linux system w/

    kernel 2.4.18
    glibc 2.2.5
    gcc 2.95.3
    XFree86 4.2.0

I am using the install sequence in the FAQ at www.gnome.org.
When I try to install libgtop-1.0.13 with the latest version of
guile (guile-1.4.1) from ftp.gnu.org I get the following error:

I have no idea what this error is about.  Can anyone help me out?
