keyboard no work when start gdm automatically (non-automatic ok...)

Linux on VMWARE on Windoze can run GNOME....

If I start gdm after I login myself then all is fine.

If I add gdm to rc.local so done automatically then
keyboard doesn't print characters in gdm when
I try to type username and passwd.

Why gdm autostart doesn't read keyboard anymore?
