gedit 2.1.4 and XIM

hello,
I have installed gnome 2.1.4 and the gedit is also 2.1.4, but
I found there is big problem when using it with XIM,
when I use XIM to input the charactor into gedit and there are
some candicate words let me select, but when I press backspce
it will delete the charactor that already in gedit, and not delete
the candidate words in XIM program.
