Sawfish not gnome compliant?

Hi all
I just switched gnomes default wm (back) to sawfish from xfwm. This was
fine, but the next time I logged in, there was a gnome ? foot print when
it loaded ui-properites, and then once booted, gnomes desk guide
complained of not having a gnome compliant window manager.
Any ideas?
