Yes, nice try. The only problem is that i cannot launch any panel except if
i loggin root ! (error message reports a segmentation fault  ???)

So, I've backtracked to version 1.4.0.2

Any idea to fix this problem ???

Hmmm, by the way, when compiling, make complains that the file
panel/gnome-panel.h doesn't exists. So I copyied it from version 1.4.0.2
