since around last august, evolution was not targeted for gnome 1.4
(since it was supposed to come out last november, and evoultion wasn't
going to be done enough in time).  since the release has slipped until
now, evolution could have been a candidate for 1.4, but the evo team
didn't want to commit to this, so that they had enough time to get out a
really featureful and stable email client.

on the plus side, with the libraries being frozen for 1.4, evo and
nautilus library incompatibilities will be gone.
