I suspect that the berkeleydb on the sun freeware disk
may not be compiled with db-1.85 compatibility mode.
If this is the case, you will probably have to recompile it
yourself.
Just a guess.

When trying to compile gnome-libs-1.2.13 on a Solaris 8 box I receive the
following error text.
gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wunused -o .libs/gnome-dump-metadata -L/opt/sfw/lib

Undefined first referenced
symbol in file
dbopen gnome-dump.o

.libs/gnome-dump-metadata
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `gnome-dump-metadata'
Current working directory /download/gnome/gnome-libs-1.2.13/libgnome

Can anyone help me please?
