You should have a recent version of gnumeric (at least 0.67). Then call
Insert->Object, select a bonobo object, press Ok, press the left MB on the
sheet hold it down and drag a rectangle, where the component should
appear. Right click in the component opens a context menu, choose open and
select a file to load (eg. with an EOG component an image).
