can`t create applets at panel after upgrade sawfish ;-((

hello,
i can`t add a applet to my panel, but adding menuentries works???
this happened after upgrading sawfish to the newest helixversion.
a downgrade did nothing more.

i got no error messages...
what could i do?

System:
linux 2.2.4 kernel
with helix-gnome for suse 6.4 (all newest versions installed)
