Nautilus doesn't yet have the ability to directly create a launcher on
the desktop within the shell.  This feature wasn't "removed" as such.
It wasn't implemented.  Nautilus isn't a re-write of gmc...it's
a completely new architecture with many improvements over gmc but a
few things that weren't implemented.

Workaround:  Create a launcher on a panel and drag it to the desktop.
Or drag menu items to the desktop.
