Latest libxml fails 'make check' on Solaris

I can compile libxml 1.8.11 just fine, but when i run 'make check' it fails with the following message:

< ./test/valid/xlink.xml:450: validity error: ID dt-arc already defined
< <p><termdef id="dt-arc" term="Arc">An <term>arc</term> is contained within an

I have libxml 1.8.10 installed and it seems to be working fine, but I want to upgrade to all the Gnome 1.4 packages if possible.
Does anyone know what my error means, and if it is safe to install?
