Stopping gdm echoing password length

Hi,


I'd be grateful if anybody could tell me if it is
possible to stop the gdm login printing asterisks as
the password is keyed in. That is, I would prefer
there to be no echoing at all as the password is
entered (as used to be the case in xdm if I remember
correctly).
