(lib)gtop problem

About 30-60 secs. after starting gtop it closes. My log file says:

glibtop: glibtop_get_proc_state (): Client requested field mask 0000f, but
only have 0000c.
glibtop: open (/proc/stat): Too many open files

The contents of /proc/stat is:

I dont't know what all this means, but the last line says that there are
298 processes (i think), according to gtop there are 33 processes.

Does someone know what's wrong here.
