problems with gmc shortcuts

I installed the HELIX gnome 1.2, and some little problems with the
gmc arose: Not all shortcuts of the main menu bar of gmc are running:

During a gnome session, the File and the Help pulldown menus are not
opened when typing ALT+f resp.ALT+h. 

The other pulldown menus (Edit, Settings, LAyout, Command and Desktop) are
opened correctly with the corresponding shortcuts. 

Strange: if I use MWM (Motif) as WindowManager (and not Enlightenment)
on another desktop than the GNOME desktop,
then all gmc shortcuts run correctly on this display environment.

Any ideas?
