missing modules?

Hi 
I'm noticing several errors in my logs when I try to run some applets etc...

modprobe: can't locate module sound-slot-0
modprobe: can't locate module sound-service-0-3
modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108

Any ideas what packages I might be missing or do I have a different problem?
