can't login from GNOME, Rjected by GDM(gdm-2.0beta2)

I am new with Linux.  Just installed a copy of Red Hat Linux 2.2.14-5.0
downloaded from Red Hat ftp site.  Everything seems working fine for
root and any local created user accounts.  NIS(YP) seems works fine.
But, I could not login  into the system from GNOME or KDE with a remote
account in the same NIS domain.  However, I was able to login from
remote machines or any text login with the same remote account.

Below is the log from "/var/log/messages when I tried with an NIS
account "achang" to login into the Linus system
