OK great I'm trying to rpm the file:
   gnome-libs-1.0.54-1.i386.rpm

...but am getting many dependency messages:
file /etc/sound/events/gnome.soundlist from install of gnome-libs-1.0.54-1
conflicts with file from package gnome-libs-1.0.40-1

etc etc... do I need to rip out 1.0.40 before rpm'ing 1.0.54 or what?
