Adding icons to desktop from installed programs

I installed a program called Powershell using GnomeRPM. Now that its
installed I'm not sure were to go to add the icon to the desktop. How do you
add that Icon to the desktop or configure your startmenu. I'm also wanting
to add the KDE utilities that Installed to my startmenu. How would I do that
?
