Panel seg/ menus

hi~
  i just reinstalled my linux system a few days ago and it was working
fine.. now when i boot i get a panel seg fault continuously as panel
tries over and over to load.  anyone had a similar problem?  i'm running
rh6.2 with latest helix code gnome..
  as a separate problem, i indaverdently deleted all of my menus trying
to get rid of some i didn't need.. now even using gmenu won't allow me
to re-construct them.. any ideas on how to rebuild the menu structure?
  i'm now subscribed, so presonal replies would be appreciated.
