need help with helix installer

I have helix gnome installed and it runs fine, except the update
program.

It keeps telling me that my distribution isnīt supported. Well how
come I installed it in the first place, then? 

My question:  how is helix-update figuring out, that my system is not
supported?

I have my gdm shut off manually in the rc.config - file of suse. Other
then that, I havenīt done anything to confuse hupdate. 

Any clues? Do I have to create some mysterious file and write some
"Suse 6.4" in it for the update-program to work as it should?
