gnomecc and gnome-libs-1.0.16-2

for some reason when i try to run gnomecc
all i get is the warning:

gnomecc --sm-client-id xxxxxx

No response to the SaveYourself command.
The program may be slow, stopped or broken.

etc.

is there a known bug?
