Installing GNOME on Freebsd 2.2.7 problem



Hello, 

I am currently running Freebsd 227.
And I want to get GNOME to work on Freebsd 2.2.7.(slowly phasing out
Windows NT WK)

And I have copied it to my home directory /home/billgates/gnome/

Question: -

If I wanted to install GNOME as the default X windows is there some
"sequence" I should be installing the above files?

And after installing the above files correctly how to I make sure GNOME
becomes my defualt X windows manager? (eg:- what do I have to add to
.xinitrc etc)
