metadata.db problems with gnome at 1.0.5x

I recently downloaded the latest rpms from Dax's site and the links on the
desktop which are in the .gnome directory had become changed again much like
an earlier problem with the metadata.db file.  I erased metadata.db and the
links in .gnome and recreated them and all was back to normal.

Dont know if this is significant or not.
