I assume that you are using enlightement from the second question (I don't
know about the first). Draging icons on the desktop uses drag and drop
(this is done so you can drag desktop icons to programs and the like). To
perform a drag to the desktop (ie. root window), gmc needs to listen to
some events on the root window.
Now with enlightenment, it uses virtual root windows, so what apears to be
the root window may not be it (I think desktop 0 is the actual root
window). There is no easy way of finding out which window is the current
desktop, so gmc can't select for events on it. Hence the drags do not
work. You might have better luck performing the drags while on desktop 0.
If I have got something wrong, someone will probably correct me ...
