slack 4.0 install

  Ive tried to install gnome on a fresh slackware 4.0 without success.  I
got the packages in the 'order' list, but I can not find 'gnome-guile',
Ive found guile.tar.gz (forgot version) but not gnome-guile.  When I get
to gnome-python gnome breaks on me.  Exact error I cant remember, but its
a gtk error.  Ive installed the sources to gtk/glib/gimp but still no
luck.  Anyone know what Im doing wrong?  Thanks.
