getting session management into gnome-core105

Is there a special switch I need to compile gnome-core 1.0.5 with to get
the RHAD rpms-style session management?
The gnome-core I compiled made my system stop giving me the dimmed screen
and prompt on logout which I really liked. How can I get it back?
