getting e-conf to work...?

hi there.

well after much pain, loss of hair etc, i have had no luck getting
e-conf to work. Is there a special version i need to run>...? I have
downloaded both the RPM and tar.gz format and neither have installed
successfully...

Do i have to have special version of E or gnome riunning for this to
work..? 


also, once itis installed, what do i type to run it..?
My system is currently as follows...

RedHat 5.2 running 2.2.4 kernel
Latest DR15 E-snap
gnome - not version 1 though...

can anyone offer some help on this as i would really ove to use
e-conf..?
