I am having a slight problem with graphics on my X desktop. Folder icons
and screens like gqmpeg have black rectangular boxes around them instead of
showing the desktop background right up to their irregular shaped outline. I
was told by Miguel de Icaza that I needed to recompile my png lib and then
recompile imlib. I did both those steps, however I get a few messages when
compiling imlib. It tells me that it needs functionality required by -ltiff
and -lz, but that won't happen because it tells me I don't have shared libs
of these. I assume -lz is zlib. I am using current versions of both of
these, but they refuse to build shared libraries. They both pass 'make test'
but they will not install shared libraries, and they don't have
a --enable-shared option, like most other libraries do. I have tried
compiling multiple times with libtool 1.2d and now with libtool 1.2f. Does
anyone have any ideas?
