I am doing a fresh install of GNOME with the 1.0.1 source tarballs. I
have compiled everything up through gnome-core successfully. (Well, not
really. Seems guile-gtk doesn't like gtk 1.2, and then libgtop won't
compile...) But anyway. When I try compiling gnome-core, i get the following
error message:
main.o: In function `main':
/var/tmp/gnome-core-1.0.1/gsm/main.c:71: undefined reference to
`bindtextdomain'
/var/tmp/gnome-core-1.0.1/gsm/main.c:72: undefined reference to `textdomain'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [gnome-session] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/gnome-core-1.0.1/gsm'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/gnome-core-1.0.1'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
I've gotten this error in compiling gnome-libs as well, but it wasn't
fatal. Now, i don't know what the heck this means, but does it have anything
to do with gettext? I have gettext 10.25 installed...That leads to another
question. With gettext .10.35 installed, EVERY configure script i run says
it can't find gettext or dcgettext, yet it DOES find xgettext...? Any ideas?
One more question. What date did Enlightenment start using the ripple
effect? I have e-SNAP-0228, and i don't see an option for it in
e-conf..(enlightenment-conf-13.tar.gz).
thanks for your help,
spud
