Can't connect:

Hello,

Just installed 1.0 on a RedHat 5.2 machine.  Had step working on it
prior to the install.  Now when I try to run gnome-session I get;
SESSION_MANAGER=local/amazon.surf.com:/tmp/.ICE-unix/714,tcp/amazon.surf.com:1027
_X11TransSocketINETConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111

The last line repeats 6x.  If I try xhost + get the same as the last
error. DISPLAY is set to amazon.surf.com:0

glib 1.2
everything else in the gnome/ftp dir installed.

Help.
