I've just downloaded and tried out Gnome for the first time, so please bear
with me.
Before I get to my question, I just want to say, "VERY IMPRESSIVE! Gnome
KICKS ASS!" Ok, now that that's out of my system, I can continue. :-)
I download the RPM version for Redhat Linux. My version of Redhat is 5.0
and I installed the necessary files from the Redhat 5.2 distribution. Maybe
a problem here perhaps?
Anyway, It looks fine and runs pretty well but I noticed 3 distict problems:
- Englignment is running but in the Control Center there is no configeration
option for Englightement uner Workspace.
- In the Theme selector, clicking on Install new theme button does nothing.
- Something seems to be core dumping, which I only can see from the core
files. No noticable system failures.
Maybe related is that the first time I started Englightenment, it halted
with a window saying that (sorry I don't remember the exact words) something
like the configuration was not completed. -> Then Ignore, Continue, or
restart the window manager.
I am curious if there is something I can fix here. I am planning on
upgrading to Redhat 5.2 in the near future. Also, I'm not sure of the
current status of Gnome. Is it stable yet? Maybe I just have to wait a
little while until the bugs get worked out. If so, please don't be overly
concerned over my questions.
Thanks,
Kerry
