Hello everyone,
I've been trying to get gmix to work, but I've been having trouble. I scanned the archived messages, but didn't see anything like my problem, and would appreciate your help.
I'm running RH 5.2, Enlightenment & Gnome 99.8 -- up to now, installing everything from rpms. Gmix has never worked for me, so--as I wanted to try actually making some files, I went through the process of installing ORBit 0.4, MC 4.5.22 from srcs.
After I managed that, I thought I would try to re-install gnome-media from srcs, and see if I could find the problem. The config, make and make install all went OK, but when I run gmix, I get a message saying:
warning: this version of gmix was compiled with a different version of soundcard.h.
then a segfault. Now, I checked, and found that I had two versions of gmix, so I renamed the older one, and created a symlink to the newer. Still the same error. I also used locate, and found that I only had one version of soundcard.h on my system. I then tried a make clean & make distclean in the process, but still get the same error. Any advice?
Thanks a lot,
John
