[Announce] Updated Gnome packages for Slackware

Greetings lovers of stable distributions and libc5 (duck),

I've made a lot of updates to the gnome packages for Slackware 4.0. As
always they're available at

ftp://rasputin.linuxos.net/pub/slackware-packs/gnome/

I've included the changelog below so wherever your system is at you can
upgrade from there. As always the source is available in the sources/
directory. If you are doing a new install of the packages please read
the README file. Otherwise, grab the new ones, fire up upgradepkg, and
enjoy

----------

Upgraded the following packages
        libxml-1.0.0-SNAP-990509.tgz => libxml-1.1.0.tgz

General concensus on gnome-list seems to be that gnome-libs-1.0.10
is ok to use.

----------

Upgraded the following packages
        mc-4.5.32.tgz => mc-4.5.33.tgz
        xscreensaver-3.12.tgz => xscreensaver-3.13.tgz
        gnome-pim-1.0.7.tgz => gnome-pim-1.0.8.tgz
        gnome-libs-1.0.9.tgz => gnome-libs-1.0.10.tgz
        libgtop-1.0.1.tgz => libgtop1.0.2.tgz

Added a gtkapps/ directory for miscellaneous but cool gtk apps that
aren't
part of gnome.

Added the following packages
        gtkapps/grip-2.1.tgz
        gtkapps/gxanim-0.35.tgz

The new gnome-libs is rumored to have some problems, and should therefor
be considered relatively iffy and usable at your own risk. I"m using
them
now but until word comes out that they don't break bbinary compatability
i'd perhaps hold off on installing them (unless you like living on the
edgee!)
grip and gxanim are just frontends for other programs, and will not work
by themselves. You can get a package of cdparanoia and cdda2wav for
grip,
and xanim for gxanim in /pub/slackware-packs/

Upgraded to the following packages
        gedit-0.5.1.tgz => gedit-0.5.3.tgz

gedit requires glib/gtk 1.2.3, and gnome-libs-1.0.9, so if you havn't
updated
your packages yet nows the time ;)

----------

Upgraded to the following packages:
        mc-4.5.31.tgz => mc-4.5.32.tgz

Added the following packages:
        gnomeicu-0.64.tgz
        glib-1.2.3.tgz
        gtk+-1.2.3.tgz
This will put us in glib/gtk 1.2.3 land. It is probably important to
upgrade
these since I'll be compiling all new packages with these newer libs.
Unfortunately you can't use upgradepkg because the glib/gtk 1.2.2 libs
were
part of the gimp.tgz package from the slackware CD. Perhaps I'll make a
gimp.tgz with the latest gimp but until then you'll have to deal with
these
libs separately.

        gnome-libs-1.0.8.tgz => gnome-libs-1.0.9.tgz
        gnome-network-1.0.1.tgz => gnome-network-1.0.2.tgz
        gnome-python=1.0.1.tgz => gnome-python-1.0.3.tgz
        libghttp-1.0.1.tgz => libghttp-1.0.3.tgz
        mc-4.5.30.tgz => mc-4.5.31.tgz
        gnumeric-0.25.tgz => gnumeric-0.26.tgz
        xscreensaver-3.10.tgz => xscreensaver-3.12.tgz
